Dance is serious, but it's also the public service announcement behind The Pontani Sisters' New York act. While members of other New York based dance companies were honing technique in the classes of Dunham and Graham, the loveable Pontani Sisters ressurect floorshow routines of yore at retro-hospital themed Barmacy and 40's style watering hole Marion's, both located downtown. Incorporating elaborate costumes and a little fun,the Pontani Sisters create an act that is evocative of entire decades of dance history yet retains the sisters' own special flourish. Included in their repertory are tap routines, Burlesque fan dances, jungle themed numbers, a can can, go go and their famous rendition of "Mambo Italiano", an homage to their Italian heritage.
